My son, Jonathan, is only 4 1/2 and is completely out of control. I turned to a neurologist for help recommended by a friend. She put him on Focalin. We immediately started having problems with it, we were told to give it time. We ended up having to up the dose within a few months. BUT in my opinion, I have not seen a huge improvement and he is on two doses of Focalin a day. He hits, cusses, breaks & throws things, says mean hateful things, won’t listen to anyone even is father although he listens more to him than anyone else, and just is over-all out of control. Nothing seems to be getting better and our whole family is at our witts end. My husband and I feel like failures and do not know how to control him. I’m not convinced it is just ADD/ADHD! I think it is ODD…. but I am being told he is too young to make that diagnoses. His doctor is USELESS!!! If I can go with an all natural route, I WANT TO!!!!! I just want my son to be okay and for our family to live in peace! EVERY NIGHT IS NOTHING BUT CHAOS!!!! It is wearing us down mentally & emotionally! We just don’t know what to do for him anymore and I am afraid that the Focalin is just making matters WORSE! I hope I can find the help I need in this book. We have an appointment in April at Riley’s Hospital for a full evaluation testing to be done on him. But April seems so far away!!!!!

I have just recentley received your book. My son has been on Adderal, Focalin, Daytrona Patch and is now on Straterra. Looking up this last one is what led me to your site. I pray this is the direction I need to go with Joshua. I have a fear of being scammed, most of us do. We switched his to Straterra just a few weeks ago due to the side affects he was having with everything else. He was haveing awful tics with his mouth to the point it took him forever to get a sentence out. I can say he doesn’t have this with Straterra but everything I am reading scares me and I am not willing to give up my sons health or life. He tells me all he wants is to be normal. Reading the info in the book I can also relate to and beleive I have ADD-ADHD, but have never been diognosed. I have a nephew who is also ADD-ADHD and I pray that Josh gets good results with this so we can pass on the info to his cousins mom. Really if you think about it there is not a lot of cost difference between drugs and vitamins. We pay over $100/month for the drugs so why not put that money to something that is better for ourselves and our children. Theresa
