I was diagnosed with ADD as an adult, but nothing I did worked to ease my symptoms. That’s when I decided to get a second opinion – turns out I had depression and anxiety. Now that I am treating the REAL problem, I am doing much better.

My husband is a pediatrician so you can imagine the number of parents who are ocncerned about ADD/ADHD. Even if he recognizes specific symtpoms and believes a kid could have ADD/ADHD, he always refers to a psychologist for a “back up” opinion. He worries that too many problems ar ebeing overlooked in kids simply because their symptoms mimic ADD/ADHD.

Yes… it seems our society is too quick to medicate, rather than solving the real problem.
