Our son turned 18 last August. He seems to have even less concentration than ever! He doesn't sit still for one minute! He is never home, always traveling about. He does hold down a busboy job so we think this will help with the activity. He is going to college for his second semester. First semester he had alot of non credited courses, so the real deal is coming up. We did choose courses which held classes for less then 90 minutes, since this can hinder a student who figits alot. Our son has not been diagnosed with ADD, but we are meeting with his doctor in order to run tests for vitamin deficiencies. Although this doctor is a medical doctor, he is very interested in vitamin deficiense in teenagers and young adults. We hope we can come to some conclusion about deficiencies he might have, in order to help him stay more focused when the right vitamins are provided.

I have an 11 year old son who has been on strattera for a while. I never liked it because I felt like it took away his personality. His doctor reassured me that it was the best thing because he was able to focus better in school. Recently my son has had alot of crying for no reason episodes that concerned me which is why I started looking into adhd medication. I thank God that I found this web site. I think as a parent I have made every mistake listed in regards to my sons adhd. Of course I felt like his doctor and school were giving me the best advise. Little did I know they have actually been advising me on how to suck the life right out of him. I took him off his meds. and I will never put him back on another one again, I don't care if I need to quit my job and sit next to him in school all day. I have alot of work to do still....Finishing the book, changing diets for my whole household. researching vitamins. Thank you for this research....

What would you suggest. I believe my granddaught who is 6 may have ADD. Her father and mothjer both have a slight form of it.
