Unfortunately, I just recognized this article, immediately went to the NYT to verify, and now I am compelled to politely present an idea for your consideration.
The idea is to label, as I believe I saw in one of your blogs, this particular post as an OPINION – not fact, as the author was not an academic or qualified to make statements beyond this point.
When that article first came out I read it carefully, and was disappointed that a number of readers commented how wonderful and refreshing it was. The article is many things, but it is not accurate, and is the kind of reporting akin to that level of non-fact checking I’d expect from FOX, or government officials.
Finally, I’m hopeful you might take the time to reread the article, and maybe ask questions of an authoritative source on the topic, for future reference. My motto is “it’s not what we don’t know that can hurt us, it’s what we DO know that isn’t true”.
